WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
APRIL 15
MS. SHANNON APRIL’S
PRE-K CLASSROOM

Today is Artsy Thursday for The Week of the Young Child & I can’t believe how many blooming artists we have in our classroom!
To go with our Gardening study, we discussed things that can be planted or grown. We talked about how things sprout and blossom. We also found most students liked purple flowers! There were real flowers, fake flowers, fruits, and vegetables set out at the tables. Every child expressed their creativity today using watercolor!

Working Together Wednesday
Ms. Shannon’s Pre-K Classroom

Today is Working Together Wednesday in our celebration of the Week of the Young Child! Keeping with our class’s study of Balls, we worked together to make bouncy balls! These friends are SO proud when they are able to help one another – just look how seriously they took their jobs holding their friends’ cups so the water didn’t spill! Don’t let those serious looks fool you, though – we had a lot of fun!
~Ms Shannon

Tasty Tuesday
Ms. Erin’s Pre-K Classroom

As we continued with the week of the young child, we celebrate Tasty Tuesday. In typical PK6 fashion, we like to do things a little differently…so for Tasty Tuesday we had the mud kitchen open and had some fun serving up “coffee” and “cakes” while we were outside!
If you’d like to celebrate Tasty Tuesday at home, check out Week of the Young Child Website to find activities to include your child in, like exploring a cookbook or having your child help with tonight’s dinner.
